Artifacts: Instructions for Anne Frank "Body Biography" project and assessment.
One of the mastery objectives in the 7th grade English unit I taught during my internship was to "demonstrate an
understanding of character traits." I designed a series of activities where the students studied the meaning of a
variety of traits; described Anne Frank's character during Acts I and II of the play; and identified changes
in Anne from Act I to Act II.
As a culminating activity, students demonstrated mastery of these concepts in a "body biography" of Anne where they showed
Act I and Act II character traits on different sides of a figure.
